Public holidays:
From December 31 to January 1, the New Year is the main Russian holiday. The main role is played by Ded Moroz (Russian Father Frost) and Snegurochka (Snow Maiden), who distribute gifts that night. The holiday is mostly family-friendly and very fun.

February 23 — Defender of the Homeland Day, the former the Soviet Army Day.

May 1 and May 2 — The holiday is the First of May. During the Soviet Union, it was called Workers' Solidarity Day.
